Changes in summer can affect our gut microflora.

The AEDN has explained that dietary imbalances in summer can cause changes in the intestinal microflora.

The Spanish Association of Dietitians-Nutritionists (AEDN) has warned that dietary imbalances in the summer, caused by changes in residence and schedules, can lead to changes in the intestinal microflora, promoting the appearance of digestive disorders such as intestinal discomfort, bloating, or poor digestion.

The intestinal microflora is composed of trillions of bacteria that act in a coordinated manner, performing tasks that are key to overall health and the digestive process in particular.

In this regard, AEDN president Giuseppe Russolillo explained that certain digestive discomforts, such as heavy digestion or abdominal bloating, may indicate an "imbalance" in the intestinal microflora.
